Question: Can a player have a ball in the back of his stick and then cradle, pass, dodge, shoot or score?
Answer: Rule 4, Section 7, Article 1 of the NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations)
The simple answer is Yes. Often times during a faceoff the ball will end up in the back of a crosse. However, if the ball becomes stuck after one attempt to dislodge there shall be an immediate whistle and the ball awarded to the opposing team. Note: The goalkeeper is the only exception. Should a ball get stuck in his crosse or uniform while he is in the goal crease a defensive player shall be awarded the ball outside the goal area.

Question: Can a ball be kicked in the goal by either team and will that count as a goal?
Answer: Rule 4, Section 5, Article 9 of the NFHS rules states that, "A shot is considered a ball propelled toward the goal by an offensive player, either by being thrown from a crosse, kicked or otherwise physically directed." So, a ball kicked into the net does count as a goal.
